Budget airline announces expansion of services between UK and Bucharest

Wizz Air, a budget airline that operates in various eastern European countries, has announced an expansion of its services between the UK and Bucharest.

Holidaymakers and property investors from Liverpool be able to fly to Bucharest from John Lennon Airport from October 1st 2007 using Wizz Air, with services scheduled for three times a week.

Brussels: New budget airline from October

Another budget airline will be servicing Brussels Airport starting 28 October this year. Scandinavian carrier Sterling Airlines will start offering service to Denmark, Sweden and Norway, according to a press release from the company.

Over the past few months Brussels Airport has been trying to attract not only more long-haul flights but also budget airlines. The airport’s strategy seems to be working. Both EasyJet and SkyEurope recently announced their arrival at Zaventem, and Air Berlin is also interested in servicing Brussels, according to reports in the media.

JetBlue opens NYC to San Francisco flights

JetBlue, the low-cost airline hoping to forget a chaotic February of storms and stranded passengers, has a new lease on life.

The stylish, 6-year-old carrier has just begun regular coast-to-coast flights from New York to San Francisco and founder David Neeleman hopes it will mean an end to the airline`s tough times.

Flyglobespan takes flight

More options for travellers out of Hamilton International Airport.

Low-cost European style carrier Flyglobespan has launched its service between Hamilton and 13 destinations in the United Kingdom.

Federal Transportation Minister Lawrence Cannon was among those on hand for the launch, calling it the first example of the federal government’s “blue sky” policy at work. The open-skies agreement has eliminated certain restrictions on International travel.

Alicante becomes Ryanair’s twelfth Spanish route from Dublin while the addition of Bydgoszcz and Gdansk brings Ryanair’s Polish routes from Dublin to eight.

Cheap flights from Cardiff to Paris

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has launched its first ever flights from Cardiff direct to the French capital city of Paris.

With fares from £34.99 one way including taxes and charges, travellers from Wales have been snapping up seats, bagging a bargain break to the city.

Flybe has the direct service to Paris following the recent acquisition of BA Connect earlier this year, adding the Welsh capital to its list of UK bases and providing the people of Wales, especially from its South West region, with a low cost and convenient travel alternative.


Spanair celebrates launch of Munich – Bilbao route

Spanair is continuing its international expansion with this new route which has been offering daily flights both ways between the cities of Munich and Bilbao since April 15. The carrier has strengthened its presence on the German market by offering more direct flights between Germany and Spain. Ryanair to expand services from new hub

Ryanair said Thursday it was expanding its route network for its newest hub in Bremen, northwest Germany.

Europe’s largest no-frills airline said it planned to open seven new routes in mid-September, taking the total number of routes to 18, just weeks after opening services in Bremen.

New twice-weekly services would link Bremen with Alghero in Sardinia and Trapani in Sicily; three-times weekly with the Slovak capital of Bratislava, Malta and Stockholm; four-times weekly with Italy’s financial capital, Milan; and daily with Paris.

Jazeera Airways launches Kochi-Dubai flight

Jazeera Airways, the Middle East’s first private airline, Monday officially launched its non-stop flights between Kochi and Dubai. The airlines would operate its flights between the two cities thwice a week.

Though Jazeera has been operating flights from Kochi to Dubai from March 25, the official launch took place Monday.

Virgin Atlantic Airways today launched daily services between London Heathrow and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Chicago, which becomes Virgin Atlantic’s 27th destination worldwide, will be the airline’s tenth US gateway. Chicago is a key destination in its own right as well as a hub for the Mid West.
